With the fall of the Euro, Albanian tour operators turn their eyes to the Lek

The decline in the value of the Euro has caused tour operators to turn their attention away from the lek and tour packages are being offered in the local currency.

Expert Feriolt Ozuni in an interview for A2CNN said: In 15 years I had not seen contracts in the local currency lek only in euros. It started last year with some sporadic cases, but the opportunity is being seen in lek for agencies to have less losses and to somehow leave the burden to the international partner. Prices are given in the local currency and partners are given the opportunity to calculate prices according to the Bank of Albania but also contracts in euros but with a range of changes.

Will we face price increases from Albanian accommodation structures again?

"If the exchange rate doesn't change, prices won't change, but with fluctuations, prices will also adjust."
