Richard Grenell remembers Thaçi in Kosovo's congratulations: He should have celebrated today in Pristina, not behind bars in The Hague

US envoy Richard Grenell has congratulated Kosovo on its 17th anniversary of Independence, describing it as a historical moment overshadowed by the injustices committed against the state of Kosovo.
Grenell also mentioned Hashim Thaçi in his message, who, according to him, should be celebrating in Pristina and not behind bars in The Hague today.
Grenell's full message:
“I wish all my friends in Kosovo a joyful and safe celebration on the 17th anniversary of their independence. However, this historic moment has been overshadowed by a grave injustice. The founding father of Kosovo statehood, President Hashim Thaçi, should be celebrating today in Pristina – not behind bars in The Hague. Europeans have failed to act against this injustice in the last 5 years. And Kosovo’s state institutions have failed to take the necessary legal action to end this injustice – because of politics. This unjust imprisonment must end.”
