TikTok will be closed throughout the Albanian territory for 12 months. The decision was made at a government meeting and was announced by the Minister of Education, Ogerta Manastiliu. Within 1 week or so, the Cyber Security Agency will close the TikTok platform for all Albanian users.
"Restricting access for a period of 12 months will allow us time to take measures in coordination with TikTok representatives. It is a decision that focuses on the interests of children and young people," said Manastirliu.
Manastiliu said that the ultimate goal is not to close TikTok, but to install filters, and for this purpose, communications have begun with representatives of the Chinese platform.
