Women may love romance, but in fact men are the real romantics.
A recent study has broken this down once and for all, showing that men tend to fall in love faster and more often, desire a partner more, and accept their love first.
When it came to breakups, they were also less likely to initiate them. So it was women, in 65% of cases, who broke up relationships.
Men tend to say "I love you" about 42 days earlier than women.
The study found that men also tend to benefit more from being involved in a relationship, in terms of mental health and longevity.
They often see fewer positive things that come from a breakup, experience fewer positive emotions like relief or joy, feel more lonely, and even have a more pronounced increase in suicide risk.
