Fill your bowl with popcorn because it's good for your brain
Popcorn is a cereal, it is healthy for the body, but also for the brain.
In a study that followed nearly 140,000 adults for six years, those over 80 who ate the least whole grains had the highest risk of memory loss.
In addition, another study involving adults 50 and older found that those who ate the most whole grains (about seven servings per day) were more likely to have better cognitive abilities.
Whole grains were also associated with a lower risk of high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. This reduction in disease risk is also likely to be a boon to brain health.
Just be careful! Do not eat them with butter.
