Emotions were inevitable, especially for pianist Dhurata Lazo who had returned to her homeland.

"I am excited for this extraordinary reception. Honored to receive this great award from this great name in my city. I have great emotions. I have performed on international stages and I have not had such emotions before. In Germany where I live, I am taking this piece of Gjirokastrite and I will keep it with me because I am very proud to be a Gjirokastrite," she said.

Antigonea with its legends and mysteries and the hills of Gjirokastra, filled with history, formed the background of this special event, honoring three figures with valuable contributions to Albanian society.

Aleksandër Çipa, a powerful voice of journalism that carries within him the right and true word, recognizes his contributions to the city that raised him, with the culture he has in his genesis since Musina Kokalari. Learned from his qualifications, but also the school of life, Çipa expressed his gratitude to the stone city.

"This is an award that I consider a great honor from my city, but it turns into an obligation for me to always be a servant of the promotion of culture, heritage and especially tourism of Gjirokastra. It is appreciation from the city where I grew up and from to whom I embodied the concept that the place of birth is important, but the place of upbringing is also of fundamental importance", stated Çipa while holding his award in his hands.

Anila Basha, with a deep humility, accepted the "Kadare" award, certainly between emotions and privilege, emphasizing a great sense of responsibility, despite the fact that she is not from Gjirokastra. She reinforced her mission as a journalist, promising to continue to be a voice that builds bridges between people. And after all, this is the mission of the media, to serve as a force that brings enlightenment and understanding to the human mind.

Her thanks was a sincere tribute, proving her commitment to keeping the great commitment alive in a world that needs more human feeling.

"I said that and because I am not a Gyrokastrite, I see this award with a big name with great responsibility. We live in a society where extreme polarization has not allowed us to see the best in each other, love, empathy and respect But, apart from all the others, this should be the mission of the media and I will continue to do it. Thank you, Gjirokastra", said Basha.

This evening organized by the mayor Flamur Golemi of Gjirokastër Municipality and the "Antigonea" center was all to be enjoyed. "Kadare" is not just a trophy. But it is a price of gratitude, it is love for a city that speaks through every stone, alley and every memory so devotedly preserved. And in this way, it seemed that with the honoring of these three figures with a contribution to Albania, Gjirokastra "took" a deep breath, feeling protected by its best sons and daughters.
