This 74-year-old woman is applying for a free public transportation pass starting January 1st.
On average, she spent 2,400 new lek per month just on public transportation.
"I am 74 years old, but I need the subscription because I continue to work. My choice because my pension is small, 178 thousand. For us, it is a great help because I spend 80 Lek round trip," said the pensioner.
Representatives of the administrative unit say that the interest of the elderly in being provided with free passes is high.
"Interest has been high with dozens of pensioners showing up. Within 24 hours there were 65 registrations," said Erjola Ndoci, head of the Support Services Sector, Unit 10.
After applying with an identity card, pensioners must withdraw their subscriptions only at 5 points authorized by the Municipality of Tirana and distributed throughout the capital.

The third point is at the National Library, "Luigj Gurakuqi" street, at the kiosk at "Brryli" on Zhan D'Ark Boulevard, at the Train Station, "Reshit Petrela" street," said Ndoci.
