On the first day of the 2024-2025 school year, the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, was in Gjirokastër, at the "Thoma Papapano" vocational high school, where the hotel-tourism branch opens for the first time this year.
Minister Kumbaro said that there was no way to miss the hotel-tourism profile in Gjirokastër, not only for the rapid growth of tourism in the UNESCO city, but for the entire tourist offer that has been expanded in all the municipalities of this district.
"Where better to open this branch than in Gjirokastra. That it could not be different in a city, district and all these other municipalities that welcome tourism, where businesses are opening from the villages to the heart of the cities", said Minister Kumbaro.
Minister Kumbaro also added that employment for hotelier-tourism students is guaranteed during the study period.
"From other schools in Albania, I have seen that students are employed before they graduate, that's why I'm very happy and I want to thank the whole team and teachers of the school "Thoma Papapano" because everyone together with the Educational Directorate, the Municipality and businesses, we managed to open the hotel-tourism branch", Minister Kumbaro continued, inviting parents and students to evaluate the opportunity to study at this branch, where registrations will be open throughout September.
At the end of her speech, Minister Kumbaro said that with the opening of this branch, the offer not only of the school, which has an infrastructure and qualified staff of teachers, but also of Gjirokastra, which has an ever-growing tourism market, is even more complete. .
