Anxhela Martin's husband wins legal battle with Romania

After six years of legal battles, justice has finally prevailed for Dragoș Săvulescu. Romania’s Supreme Court of Justice has ruled in his favor, acknowledging that Romania had unlawfully held an arrest warrant against him for years, despite Italy having completely overturned his conviction. This long and drawn-out case caused him and his family great stress, but the final ruling confirms that the prosecution against him was fundamentally abusive.

Italy had already overturned Romania's decisions against him, granted him Italian citizenship and erased his criminal record. However, for years, Romania refused to recognize the decisions of the Italian courts, placing an illegal legal burden on him.

That changed yesterday, when the Supreme Court of Justice in Romania finally accepted Italy's decision and annulled the arrest warrant, proving that the years-long legal prosecution against him was in fact illegal.

This is not the first time Romania has been accused of abusive actions in his case. Three years ago, Romanian authorities pressured Greece to arrest him, despite the lack of legal basis. He fought and won, showing how Greece and Italy were against Romania’s actions. Now, even Romania’s highest court has sided with this position, effectively admitting that the entire legal prosecution against him was unjustified.
