20 years after his first win, Adrien Brody won his second Oscar and gave a 5-minute speech that connected him to his role as someone affected by the aftermath of war.

After thanking God, his wife, his parents, and his children, he said:

"I am here once again, to represent the ongoing traumas, and the consequences of war and systematic oppression, anti-Semitism and racism. I pray for a healthier, happier and more inclusive world and I believe that if the past can teach us anything, it is a reminder not to hate."

"Okay, I'm going to leave here now. I love you, I appreciate you all. Let's fight for what's right, keep smiling, keep loving each other, rebuild together. Thank you," he said.
