By Rita Petro/ A woman's power and success are valuable when she achieves it herself, not when she receives it as a gift from powerful men. When she gains it herself, she never uses it to control others and submit to those she is obligated to. On the contrary, a truly powerful woman has first discovered this strength within herself, along with the beauty of her femininity. And she has no need to turn into an "arrogant man" to challenge the obstacles she encounters every day from gender stereotypes.
In Albanian society, women have it doubly difficult, because when they reach the pinnacle of success and have intellectual, professional, and material power, they are attacked by both men and women. The opposite happens with a successful man, who is admired by both women and men.
On the other hand, women fight fiercely for first place when a woman is there, while when a man is there, they have no problem quietly moving to second place.
Therefore, every day, even more so today on March 8, we must become aware of our own strength that comes from within, supporting ourselves and each other, to make every man aware that happiness in life depends on harmony between men and women; to make every government that comes and goes aware that it is not enough to simply increase the number of women in government, but to protect and feel responsible for every abused woman and every life lost, to strongly support spiritually, culturally, mentally and materially everything that is the right of women, as well as men.
However, the beautiful feminine power, despite the challenges, has been challenging and opening windows for some time, as it removes bricks from the walls of Albanian society.
