The World Economic Forum has published a list of professions that will dominate the labor market in 2030, highlighting some of the professions that occupy the largest share of the market in the Balkans and Albania.

For example, in 2030 there will be no need for administrative assistants, secretaries, archivists, legal clerks, drivers, postal workers, etc.

Almost all new professions will be based on information technology.

Up to this point, we all more or less know.

The question is:

"Are we ready for this overthrow of the current rules of the labor market where technological skills, critical thinking, are increasingly in demand?!"

In the region today, only 2.6% of employees are IT specialists.

Budgetary spending on research and innovation is 0.4% of GDP, while in 2023 only 0.08% of GDP, less than 0.1% (OECD)

In 2021, only 34.5% of Albanians, according to the World Bank, have made digital payments, unfortunately among the lowest levels in the region (61.7%).

Albania ranks 21st out of 23 with a total score of 36.37 points in 4 sections (Talent, IT Infrastructure, Economic Impact and Business Environment), below Kosovo and other Balkan countries.

Etc. etc.

In short, from education (you remember the PISA results); rapid and short-term digital training first for those who risk losing their jobs due to the technological revolution; clear support for entrepreneurship and 'start-ups' that bring innovation to attract young people and stop their emigration; financial support schemes for IT specialists - including those from the diaspora who want to return to their homeland not only to vote, - to awareness of the danger that threatens us when young people are suddenly oriented towards studies that prepare mainly civil servants, are simply necessary.

If we don't want the whole world to be receiving and providing comprehensive services based on artificial intelligence, we should engage in the methodical exploitation of stupidity by facilitating development on Instagram.
