Donald Trump told Volodymyr Zelensky that he was "playing with World War III" during a tense meeting in the Oval Office, which began after a different perspective on the Ukraine issue.
Zelensky, who was in the US to seek a ceasefire agreement with Russia and opportunities for a mineral deal, faced harsh criticism from President Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

Tensions flared when Vance accused Zelenskyy of "disrespect," urging him not to discuss the conflict with the American media, but to thank Trump for his efforts to end the conflict.
As the Ukrainian president tried to object, Trump raised his voice and told him: "You're playing with the lives of millions of people.
"You're playing with World War III, and what you're doing is disrespecting this country, which has supported it far more than many people say it should have."
Zelensky openly challenged Trump for his softer approach to Vladimir Putin and encouraged him not to "compromise with a murderer."
