Tension in Congress: Democratic lawmaker expelled after interrupting Trump

Texas Democratic Representative Al Green was ejected from the US Congressional floor after repeatedly interrupting President Donald Trump during his first speech after taking office.

During the speech, Green raised his voice and said, “He doesn’t have the popular mandate,” while waving his cane. His reaction caused a commotion in the hall, where Republicans began chanting “USA! USA! USA!” while Trump appeared irritated.

In a statement to NBC, Green said he intervened when he heard the president talk about the popular mandate:

"He does not have the popular mandate and certainly does not have the moral right to take away healthcare from the poorest," the Democratic congressman emphasized.
