Musk and Grenell: Close VOA and REL, they are relics of the past

The head of the Department of Government Efficiency in the United States, Elon Musk, has called for the media outlets Voice of America and Radio Free Europe to be closed.
Musk shared a post by Donald Trump's special envoy for missions, Richard Grennell, stating that these two media outlets are paid for with American taxpayer money and no one listens to them anymore.
According to Grenell, these media outlets funded by American taxpayers are filled with far-left activists and are relics of the past that are no longer needed.
"These media outlets are filled with far-left activists. I've worked with these journalists for decades. It's a relic of the past. We don't need government-funded media," Grenell wrote, a sentiment that was also supported by Musk.
Trump's emissary further adds that Europe is now free, without the oppressive bureaucracy, and emphasizes that a full $1 billion of American citizens goes to these media outlets.
