Meloni: We are all committed to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine

During her meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a strong statement on the importance of Western unity and the key role of Italy and the United Kingdom in achieving peace in Ukraine.
"We are all very committed to achieving a common goal: a just and lasting peace. It is extremely important to avoid the risk of dividing the West, because if we divide, we will become weaker," Meloni said.
She added that Italy and the United Kingdom could play a key role as "bridges" between Europe and the United States.
"I have also proposed a meeting between American and European leaders, because we understand that to secure our citizens, we need new tools and ideas. We and our allies must think outside the traditional framework to find real solutions to security challenges," she added.
