The United Kingdom has approved a 2.26 billion pound ($2.8 billion) loan for Ukraine, which will be used to strengthen its defense and arms production in the country. The agreement was reached during a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
In a post on X, Zelensky said the funds would be repaid with proceeds from frozen Russian assets, calling it an act of justice.
"This is true justice - he who started the war must pay," he declared, as he thanked the British government and people for their support since the beginning of the war.
Zelensky called the United Kingdom a strategic partner and stressed that the two countries share the same vision for a secure future.
