Rama: We will continue to support SPAK and GJKO, but we will use the sunlight to

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted again to the justice system in X, writing that the independence of SPAK and GJKKO is vital for the country's democratic standards. Rama says that any failure of them would be a major blow to Albania.

Rama's post on X

To be absolutely clear:

If SPAKU and GJKKO fail to be independent, while at the same time guaranteeing democratic standards, this would not simply be our failure, that of the Socialist Party and mine personally, that we have entered this sea with our feet, with the willingness to take on all the moral and political costs, along with the mud of the political-media swamp. This would be the great failure of Albania, which would give "right" to all those who, since 1912 until we, the Socialist Party, initiated the Justice Reform, who never entered this sea with our feet and never gave independence to justice.

These new institutions are the cornerstones of a very strong historical turning point, and now that their independence is 100% proven - only the notary idiots of Schweik and the two-legged evils of the opposition swamp can still say that we control them - it is our duty to not allow the lack of standards and individual abuses of independence to take these cornerstones like a river, aborting the historic mission of the fight against corruption.

It is also our duty to take to the asphalt on May 11th those who want to dissolve SPAK and throw the baby out with the bathwater. We will continue to support SPAK and GJKKO without wavering, but we will use the light of day to share with the public all the troubling issues or any case where someone abuses their duty and the people's trust, taking us back to the times of the State Security.

Whoever has committed corruption should tremble before justice, whoever does their job should not be afraid of mistakes, and no one should dare to treat them as guilty, put pressure on them, take their cell phone hostage, and so on. Accusing is easy, proving is difficult, which is why prosecutors and special judges are paid like no one else in this republic, and their institutions are supported like no other by this government.

SPAKU has shown us that it has the forces that know how to investigate and expose corruption and we will always be supportive of this, but history has shown us that the risk of hitting not corruption, but democracy, the state, the economy, in the name of anti-corruption should never be neglected. And we will not neglect it. That's what I know. The rest is the political-media swamp and you only have to choose, either with justice and democracy or with the swamp and without justice.
