Lucio Corsi will represent Italy at Eurovision 2025, after singer Olly has decided to withdraw from the competition. Olly, the winner of Sanremo, had planned several concert dates during Eurovision and, due to his commitments, decided not to change them.
In an Instagram post, Olly explained his decision, saying: "I've been asking for opinions for days and the answer is always the same: in the end you have to do what you feel. It's important for me to be myself."
He added that, although it may seem like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he decided to continue with his planned concerts, emphasizing that this is his way of making himself heard.
In the end, Olly said: "Music in Italy is full of wonderful artists and this year is the most sincere proof of that."
Lucio Corsi, who followed Olly in the rankings by a small margin of 0.45%, will have the honor of representing Italy at Eurovision 2025.
