Government approves criminal amnesty, 600 convicts at home for holidays

The Council of Ministers approved at the next meeting the draft law on amnesty, which benefits about 600 convicts, for non-serious criminal offences.
Minister Ulsi Manja in a communication to the media, at the end of the government meeting, said that the categories that benefit the most from the amnesty are convicted women and minors.
He also added that about 600 convicted persons will benefit who will spend the holidays with their families.
"I wanted to thank my colleagues in the government who voted for the amnesty law. This law will be submitted to the assembly and the floor belongs to the deputies who must give their qualified majority vote for the passage of the law on granting amnesty. From this amnesty, if it receives the vote of the deputies in the Assembly, about 600 convicted people will benefit to spend the holidays with their families. The draft law for granting amnesty is in the Parliament of Albania", said Manja.
