The opposition protest on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard in front of the Prime Minister’s Office lasted about 2 hours. Supporters of the Democratic Party and its allies gathered in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, in a massive protest after the statements of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, who accused Edi Rama and the government of corruption and abuse of public funds. The organizers changed the agenda of the protest, unlike the previous rallies which were held with roadblocks and civil disobedience. At this Saturday’s protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, there were speeches by the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, and other democratic representatives. There was also a voice message from Ilir Meta, who has been in prison since October 21, 2024.
The protest was accompanied by no major incidents. Three State Police officers suffered injuries from the throwing of canisters and smoke bombs by opposition supporters. Among the injured police officers is a female officer who suffered injuries to her face, while two of her colleagues suffered injuries to their hands.
