The new buildings at "5 Maji" are getting ready to receive the residents who were affected by the earthquake. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj closely inspected the works in buildings 27-28, where he said that the public site of "May 5" was built with the best standards, even the private ones, while he announced the process of drawing lots for residents who will benefit from new houses in these buildings.
"I don't believe that there is a private construction site that has been worked with quality, as it was done in the public construction site of 5 May. He said that work has been done at a faster pace than in the EU countries that were affected by the earthquake, despite political blockages.

However, when I think that in other EU countries, or in other countries even richer than us, they managed to do only a small fraction of the reconstruction after the earthquake. He stated that the new homes were built with standards many times better than those destroyed by the earthquake, which were built mainly with volunteer labor. "I have seen this moving scene of politics that cannot win elections. Once it catches behind the theater, then it catches after the earthquake, then to the boulevard, then to the square, then to the bazaar, then to the Great Ring. The houses that the earthquake destroyed were scandalous houses, built either with the voluntary or forced labor of political prisoners, or with the voluntary labor of an officer, a pianist, and a storyteller who were not for that work.
