An accident happened today at the dam of the Artificial Lake of Tirana. A BME car collided with the curbs of the dam and immediately after the accident the driver left the scene. The BME was at high speed and from Kosovar street climbed the dam, ending at the promenade.

Police Notification:

"On 22.08.2023, around 05:15, on Rruga e Kosovare, it is suspected that the vehicle type "BMË" driven by citizen EA, 26 years old, resident of Durrës, went off the road and climbed the escarpment of the lake dam , then collided with the protective border on the side of the lake.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and left the scene of the accident.

The procedural materials will be transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction, for further procedural actions, for the criminal offenses "Destruction of property" and "Leaving the scene of the accident".
