By Mira Kazhani/ Berlin is not the city I would like to live in, because I am a sun person. But I am part of the majority who are amazed by the freedom, the spirit of this city and of course the order.
Lately, wherever I go, I think that our Albania has the most beautiful light in the world. There is nothing like the Mediterranean! Even though Mediterraneans are not hardworking people, maybe because they have the sun.
I was lucky enough to be at ITB Berlin, the tourism fair in March 2024, again this year where Albania had the place of honor.
Albania truly honored us with its presentation.
Mirela Kumbaro, the Minister of Tourism, has been one of the most dedicated people in this project. I know that "tradition" is for us to criticize politicians, but in this case, Kumbaro was the godmother of a dignified presentation.
Albania in the documentary connected with real numbers on stage of the TKOB ballet troupe or polyphonic groups combined by the piano of Robert Bisha brought a real Albania, along with beauty, but also those paradoxes of development. It was not an Albania with filters. It was what we see every day, but turned into art, by the team of the Ministry of Tourism, by the people who worked 1 year in a row for this show.
It was a job that seemed to have brought everyone together for a presentation.
I don't know how happy the 11 million tourists are leaving Albania. And these years of opportunity for Albania will decide its fate for the future.
But when I watched the harmony of the dancers and the documentary, I thought that we have so much talent and civic spirit. A harmony that we don't have in our daily lives, but that we can build if we have a little willpower and a lot of love.
Next to me was a German who filmed the whole time and at the end when the show was over, he said to me:
"I will come to Albania with my wife. I am the German ambassador to Costa Rica."
"I am amazed by what I saw. You must be very proud of your beautiful country."
During the three days of the tourism fair, there are 100 tour operators, hoteliers, and large businesses that will show foreigners why the door of the Albanian is of God and of the friend.
