Champion without fame!
By Mira Kazhani / I call good luck the interview with a world champion, in the hottest week in the world of sports!
Briken Çalja is the good face of Albania, of the will, of the dreamy spirit and especially of the Albanian sport.
He is 31 years old, very young, and counts 38 medals. More awards than years of life! A talent who was born and raised in the village where he lives with his young family, his wife, Elidiana, and his son who has not yet turned one year old.
In our interview he was the only guest who held the phone ringing and somewhere to see it.
That's okay. If the Anti-Doping Agency calls, there are no excuses!
Do you think prison regime ?! More or less! The life of a champion is a sublimation! There are no lunches, coffees or tickets when the brain gives it. Exercise schedules are like a military regime.
And to think, for example, that in the middle of summer you want to have a cold beer with friends and you can not! This can only happen after championships, on those days when there is a small break.
Brikeni is a modest and humble champion, but wise. During the conversation he does not hide that his victories have been of little interest to the media, that people here talk about everything except sweaty victories.
Along the way he ignored the intrigues and the formula for success for the only world champion we have is sweat and being on the ground.
Of course more needs to be done for the champions and I still do not understand why some become very famous and the network cheers for three days, while for Briken you may not have heard at all you who are reading these lines now ?!
