Technology company Meta, owner of the Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp networks, has announced that it will lay off about five percent of the company's lowest-performing employees.
According to the report for the last quarter, Meta employed about 72 thousand people, so a five percent job cut will affect approximately 3600 people. Affected employees will be notified by February 10, reports Tech Crunch.
"I decided to increase the level of performance management and remove poor performers more quickly," Zuckerberg said in a memo.
