He stole 100 million euros from Kiabi and lived a life of luxury in Miami. Who

It took more than a year for the Kiabi brand to realize that it had been the victim of a €100 million embezzlement. Meanwhile, Kiabi's ex-treasurer, who allegedly embezzled this amount, has lived a dream life in Miami.

Aurelie B was arrested as she disembarked from her private jet at Figari airport in Corsica.

Life of a millionaire in Miami

Aurélie B., 39, was indicted on charges of "organized gang fraud and money laundering," according to media reports. She has been in custody since August 18. Also according to Franceinfo, during her arrest, the former treasurer of Kiabi was in possession of clothes and jewelry worth 500 thousand dollars.

Since her move to the United States in the summer of 2023, Bordeaux (Gironde)-born Aurelie has undoubtedly been living life at its best: travel, celebrity outings, VIP evenings, outfits from the best designers, luxury, restaurants and luxury villas.

After moving to Florida, he also opened several luxury businesses in the field of fashion and real estate.

An American luxury magazine had even dedicated its front page and published an article about the young French woman five days before her arrest, introducing Aurelie B. as 'one of the most sought-after designers in South Florida'.

How the theft was discovered

Aurelie had used a technique called "recovery accounts". In other words, money moved from account to account until it could no longer be traced. Moreover, she had opened fake accounts under the name of a senior official of the company, accounts that she actually owned. This was not the first time he stole. In the past, he was sentenced to two years in prison by the criminal court of Paris for embezzling 800,000 euros from another company.

The management of the Kiabi brand has spoken about the case with AFP

It was confirmed that they were the victims of a fraud, but they did not give details on the amount, which is thought to have been 100 million euros. It must be said that this well-known chain of stores has more than 600 sales points in 28 countries, and the annual turnover of 2023 was 2.2 billion euros.
