The video of the bear that has been spinning in an imaginary cage for 7 years is proof that some traumas do not heal easily

A video reveals that a bear, despite being released into the wild, has continued to roam around an imaginary cage for the past seven years. The bear named "Ina" was kept in a small cage at a zoo in the Romanian town of Piatra Neamț for 20 years before being moved to a reserve in Zarnesti. The action was carried out by an organization that protects animals.

"She is free, but her mind is captive even now, and there are days when she comes around in a circle drawn by an imaginary cage created by her traumatic life," said a spokesman for the organization.

Although she now has her own trees, pool and nest, the shadows of the past continue to haunt her.

She still can't quite grasp a life without bars and continues to walk in the imaginary cage as if it were still around her, her caretakers point out. She is traumatized to such an extreme level that the cage has become an inseparable part of her life even after release.

They said they shared the video to show that such trauma caused by 20 years in a small cage can never be forgotten and the animal still bears the mental scars.

Like humans, animals also suffer from PTSD, especially caged animals and birds.

According to psychologists, captive animals experience Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from prolonged and repeated suffering.
