Tony Bennett got to know Lady Gaga despite fighting Alzheimer's

For Lady Gaga it was an exciting moment when during her performance at Radio City Music Hall, Tony Bennett recognized her.

The 95-year-old singer has been at war with Alzheimer since 2016.

Lady Gaga revealed that during the weeks before the concert they had spent time together, but he did not call her by name all the time, but addressed her with the word 'beloved'. She was not sure if he knew who he was. But when she came on stage during their last show together, it was exciting to see how he got to know her.

When Gaga came on stage, he greeted her with the words: "Hey, Tony". As the crowd cheered, Bennett said, "Wow, Lady Gaga!"

Memory loss is one of the main symptoms of Alzheimer’s and affects about 60 to 80 percent of all people suffering from this disease.

This was not the first collaboration between the two artists. They also collaborated years ago for an album, but illness had forced Tony Bennett to retire for some time.
