Have you ever thought about how many years of your life you spend sleeping?
There are almost 9500 days, or 26 years of life that a person spends sleeping. If it seems to you that it is a wasted time or a waste of life, it is not true.
This part of time, i.e. almost a third of our life, is essential for maintaining physical and mental well-being.
It doesn't end here. What's even more surprising is that we spend another 7 years just trying to fall asleep, and so with this process, our total sleep time goes up to 33 years.
While it may seem tempting to cut back on sleep in the name of productivity, research suggests depriving yourself of rest (sleep) can lead to serious health risks unless you're part of the 1-3% of the population who don't need much sleep .
