The Paris city council has raised the price of entry to the Eiffel Tower to raise more money for the tower's restoration.
To take the lift to the top of the tower, visitors now pay €29.40, but from June 17 it will cost you €35.30.
The Sete company, which manages the Eiffel Tower, has been in financial trouble since the Covid-19 pandemic, which brought about a drop in visitors. Last year, the number of visitors rose to nearly 6 million, after falling to just 1.5 million in 2020.
High renovation costs and the recent strikes that blocked the city were a severe blow to the company's financial situation.
