The main questions you should ask yourself before deepening your relationship
By the time you're thinking about committing to a serious relationship with someone, you may already know a lot of personal information about them. But below are the questions you should ask yourself to assess red flags and overall compatibility.
Long term commitment
Ask yourself why you're with this person, what benefits you're getting and what makes you happy about them, relationship experts say. Sometimes the answer is: I'm lonely and I need someone. (But) this is not really enough reason to make your relationship serious.
In addition to knowing the type of relationship you want, it's important to know how well you're compatible from a practical standpoint on other values, finances, and sexual activity.
Look early for red flags based on values ??or character, such as a lack of financial generosity.
How does your partner treat family members, people of different genders, and people with whom they have strained relationships? Have they shown signs of violent or aggressive behavior? Do they argue using healthy and open communication, or does it feel cold and abusive?
When it comes to finances, evaluate a partner's ability to be responsible. How do they plan to pay off their high debts? Do they have a savings account?
Determine if “they are living an immediate, impulsive lifestyle, or if they are able to delay gratification, save and essentially plan for the future.
