NASA launched a mission to one of Jupiter's moons. The Europa Clipper was launched from Florida atop a SpaceX rocket. Over five and a half years, it will use the gravity of Mars and then Earth to launch itself toward Jupiter's moon Europa.
That's a journey of 1.8 billion miles. Scientists want to find out if Europa might be able to support life. They think there is a deep salty ocean hidden under a crust of ice.
And where there is water, there can be life. The rocket is due to enter Jupiter's orbit on April 11, 2030. It will come within 16 miles of the moon's surface.
That should be close enough to answer one of the most intriguing worlds in our solar system. So check back on April 11, 2030.
