At night, when the rational shield falls, the mind is filled with symbolic images intended to answer deeper demands: here's why
In our life today, the space "tuned" to the world of inner images has been greatly reduced; yet we can return to discovering its value by relying on dreams, where logic and the boundaries of space-time lose their meaning in favor of messages that speak to the heart.
It is the dreams that seem the strangest that often contain valuable resources, advice and suggestions to use in moments of impasse; however, provided one gives up their interpretation according to rational logic to make room for universal codes that speak in depth.
And it is precisely through a dream trip that Giacomo managed to overcome a deadlock. Giacomo is a highly respected designer who had lost interest in his work. In recent months he has begun to suffer from dizziness and terrible headaches that force him to sleep and prevent him from working. After a series of checks, which did not reveal any specific problems, he decides to seek help from a psychotherapist: "Suddenly I am no longer sure of anything, my work does not satisfy me as it used to, nor am I sufficiently appreciated by my superiors, among other things, I often feel weak and lack energy.”
The therapist asks if he has any recurring dreams and to the surprise of Giacomo, who cannot remember any, invites him to pay attention to the ones to come.
Let's trust dreams: they bring messages from the soul
Giacomo follows the suggestion and the headaches suddenly begin to fade. In the next session, he comes to me with an interesting dream: "I am walking along a path by the edge of a forest, not knowing where it leads me, until, in the distance, I see the shape of a castle. It's a big party, dancing, singing and a great banquet, I'm very hungry, I know I'm not invited, but I approach the table and fill the plate with all kinds of things, which I then eat greedily while I dance enchanted".
Giacomo finally followed instinct, setting aside rational control. It is no coincidence that subsequent interviews reveal the secret intention to decide on his own to fully express his talent. And here the admission of a long-suppressed desire opens the doors to another dream: "I am at the presentation of an exhibition and, as soon as I get off the stage, a charming stranger takes me by the hand and invites me to follow him through a series of well-furnished rooms ". It is Giacomo himself, who until now, has prevented so much from coming forward that, strengthened by this awareness, he is looking for a space to open his studio. As with the headaches, the dizziness, in a short time, seems to have disappeared.
Unconscious images are the gateway to the future
Giacomo is ready to face his new life, no longer afraid of taking a false step and without the resistance of the mind that forces him to adopt a sobriety that had begun to hurt him. Very often dizziness has a psychosomatic origin and usually appears when it is time to change.
The lack of balance and the impression of falling with which they manifest are, in fact, due to the fear of the jump, which makes us linger, remain in the past even when our being pushes us to move forward.
So the night and its images come to our aid. In dreams, the identity we are attached to disappears, allowing access to our most authentic nature; only she is able to lead us where the soul has decided to go. We just have to limit ourselves to follow it without excuses and with faith, exactly as Giacomo did, who in this way rediscovered the energy and courage to overcome any fear by immediately planning a better future.
