The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" has become the first song to surpass 4 billion streams on Spotify.
The song passed Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" as the most streamed song of all time on the music streaming service.
In a statement, Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) said: "I will never stop feeling humbled by anything I create that reaches millions, let alone billions!". So, the singer emphasized that he is grateful that this song makes people want to listen to it again.
The Weeknd is also the No. 1 artist. 1 on Spotify with 113.5 million monthly listeners, overtaking Spotify's most streamed female artist in 2023, Taylor Swift, who has 107.7 million monthly listeners.
