Forgiving and forgetting is not as easy as it seems, nor is it a matter of desire. It is the ability of man to be born with it. There are various brain structures that even respond to the forgiveness and forgetfulness of an event.
This process increases blood pressure
While it is important to forgive in order to move forward, it is inevitable to think about what has just happened. Excessive thinking leads to stressful moments and increased blood pressure. Our body produces more hormones whenever we feel stressed. This is why the heart beats faster, narrowing our blood vessels during the process.
Causes bad memories
Sometimes it is better to set boundaries before you have to forgive someone who goes too far. This is highly advisable for people who have experienced extreme experiences that may have put their lives and mental health at risk.
Forcing yourself to forgive can cause embarrassment. You feel within yourself that what you did, namely forgiveness, was wrong.
Impairs social skills
It is often okay to feel angry when you have just forgiven someone for a mistake. In fact, it gives you control over the situation. But excessive anger can cause minimal contact with friends and acquaintances over time.
