The "Run for Autism" race takes place in Lake Park, in Tirana

The "Run for Autism" race was held in the Artificial Lake Park, dedicated to Autism awareness. This activity was organized for the second year in a row by the Embassy of Italy in Tirana, within the "Week of Italian Culture". The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that a good city is a city that accepts everyone, without distinction.

"Each of us has our own challenges, and some may have more challenges than others. Therefore, my dream is for a city where people believe in the God they love, love the person they love, and solve challenges in the way they see fit, because only a city that accepts everyone, without doing difference, it's a good city. I am happy when I see how children behave in daycare centers, in kindergartens, in primary classes, without being discriminatory, they embrace each other as they are", he said.

The mayor thanked all those who support these initiatives, as he emphasized that a series of activities are being organized in Tirana within the "Week of Italian Culture".

"We are here to cheer for our angels, the smallest angels of the city, who despite the challenges, are here to run, to prove to us that they do not give up, to show us all that they make the city better full. Without them, the city would not be the big-hearted city it is today. I thank the colleagues of the "Week of Italian Culture" because it has been a great lesson of cooperation to run for autism, to show us that culture is not only song and dance, culture is first of all a new mentality, an open mentality, an inclusive mentality. In this week of Italian culture there will be films, we have Diodato's concert, there will be receptions, various activities, but I believe that the most beautiful activity is to run for autism, because it makes us all run initially in our mentality to be more inclusive, more open-minded, more open-minded", said Veliaj
