Tokyo 2020 / Italian athlete breaks European record and wins gold at Olympics
Italian athlete Marcell Jacobs dominated the men's 100m at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, breaking the European record in both the semifinals and finals, clocking 9.84 and 9.80 respectively, and of course winning the gold medal for them. returned to Rome.
The 27-year-old has broken the record held by Francis Obilec since 2004. Jacobs is of American descent from Texas to the US, but was born and spent his entire life in Italy and as international media point out, paradoxically he did not speaks English.
