Albania with Abakarov gets the gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship

The athlete of the Tirana team, Russian naturalized as Albanian Zelimkhan Abakarov, gave Albania its first world gold medal in wrestling.
Abakarov triumphed in the 57 kilogram freestyle final, held this Saturday in Belgrade.
After this great achievement in the World Championship, Prime Minister Edi Rama made a post on social networks: "Zelimkhan Abakarov, fantastic wrestler with Albanian citizenship, is declared world champion and to the sound of our national anthem he raises the red and black flag in Belgrade," writes Rama.
Even the mayor Erion Veliaj congratulated Abakarov for the extraordinary result achieved and his coach: "Zelimkhan Abakarov, wrestler with Albanian citizenship of KS Tirana is declared world champion at the World Wrestling Championship, Belgrade 2022. Thank you Leonard Çakmashi, for your contribution as a coach! Proud of you Zelimkhan!” - writes Veliaj.
The 7-2 success was achieved against the American Tomas Gilman.
