Sergio Aguero bids farewell to football at 33: My health comes first
Sergio Aguero has said goodbye to football. The news was given by the Barcelona footballer himself during a conference at Camp Now.
"This conference is to inform you that I have decided to leave professional football. These are very difficult times, but I'm also happy about the decision I made. "My health is first and after the problem I had a month and a half ago, the doctors told me that the best thing was not to play anymore."
The 33-year-old from Buenos Aires has played with important clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Barcelona, ??as well as the Argentine national team and has scored 385 goals during his career.
"I made this decision ten days ago. I did my best to see if there was any hope, but there was not much. I am very proud of my career, very happy. I have always dreamed of playing football, since I was 5 years old.
When I was throwing the ball my dream was to play in the First Division of Argentina, I never thought I would come to Europe. Thanks to the Independiente and Atlético who bet on me when I was 18, as well as City, I thank them for treating me so well.
Thanks also to Barça, Joan Laporta for contacting me. I knew I was going to come to one of the best clubs in the world and they treated me very well. And finally, thanks to the national team of Argentina, which is the thing I want the most "- Aguero closed his words.
