Serena Williams announces her retirement from tennis
Serena Williams has announced her retirement from tennis in the near future.
"It's the hardest thing I could ever imagine," the legendary tennis player told Vogue. "I don't want it to end, but at the same time I'm ready for what comes next."
Williams' retirement is not immediate. As she revealed she still hopes she can play at the US Open in New York later this month.
The 40-year-old champion not only wants to spend more time with her husband, Alexis, and their five-year-old daughter, Olympia, but she revealed that the couple are trying to have another child in the near future.
"I definitely don't want to get pregnant again as an athlete," she said.
