Jerome Boateng is fined 1 million euros for assaulting his ex-girlfriend

German footballer Jerome Boateng will pay a fine of 1.2 million euros for the attack on his ex-girlfriend in 2018.

The Munich court confirmed that he was guilty.

Boateng was initially fined €1.8 million in 2021. He denied the charge and appealed the sentence.

The attack for which Boateng has been convicted took place during a luxury holiday in the Caribbean, following Germany's elimination in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup.

The ex-girlfriend accused the footballer of punching her during an argument.

Boateng was part of the German team that played in the 2014 World Cup, which Germany won, and the 2018 World Cup.
