Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Manchester United
Manchester United has officially terminated the agreement with Cristiano Ronaldo today.
Through an official statement, the English team announces that this came after a mutual agreement, but the media connect the end of the Portuguese footballer with his public statements against the coach.
Manchester United's official statement:
"Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United by mutual consent with immediate effect. The club thanks him for his outstanding contribution over two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch."
Even Ronaldo himself has published a statement:
"After discussions with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to terminate our contract early. I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never change. However, the time seems right to seek a new challenge. I wish the team success for the rest of the season and for the future", he writes.
