The Ministry of Environment announces 2024 as the year of forests
On the 100th anniversary of the Forestry Service, the Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro announced the year 2024 as the year of forests, during which a program focusing on breeding forest economies will be implemented.
"The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has drawn up breeding plans for 47 forest economies, while 15 other municipalities have drawn up breeding plans for their forests and pastures, but we are still far from covering the entire territory with breeding plans. Therefore, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment has decided to declare today, 2024, the year of forests. And from today, a work calendar with an action plan starts, with a work map that will extend throughout the year 2023-2024 in the name of forests", said Minister Kumbaro.
The National Forestry Agency published a few days ago the National Inventory of Forests and Pastures, which provides information on the national forest fund and which will serve for the design of policies and strategies for the development of the forest sector for a period of 10 years.
