"I was returning home, but even for my husband, a German citizen, it was not difficult, " she says.

The story of the Albanian Lolita Poda Jorkiewitz Jorkjevic is unusual for all those who listen to her life journey. For many years she has been an Adviser on Southeast European Affairs at the Department of Justice.

She has made an extraordinary contribution to Switzerland where she made her dream come true by founding the First Department of the Albanian Language at the prestigious University of Freiburg.

“After my departure from Albania in 1991, my dream was to open the Albanian Language Department in Switzerland as there was no Albanian language teaching in any department in Switzerland, after many efforts with the Rectorate, the Dean's Office made it possible to teach the language Albanian in Switzerland. Today, the Jorkjevic couple has set up several businesses, including a Real Estate Agency, following numerous requests from their German friends, who were looking to buy property in Saranda.
