Pepsi aired Madonna's ad banned for 34 years, the singer dissed Coca-Cola

34 years after making that commercial, Pepsi brought it back at the MTV Awards.
Madonna, who had banned the broadcast of the ad for years, had a series of reactions on social networks.

However, when Pepsi agreed to the deal, they had not seen the 'Like a Prayer' music video. The video features Madonna watching a black man being punished for an attack he did not commit. Her character takes refuge inside a church, where she kisses a black saint who resembles the wrongly arrested man.
The music video was condemned by a number of Christian groups, including the Vatican, shortly after it premiered on MTV. Although Pepsi's ad did not feature any of the video's religious imagery, the company responded to the outcry by cutting its deal with Madonna and withdrawing its ad after only airing it twice.
