Amy Winehouse's ex-husband: I made mistakes, but I didn't kill her

Blake Fielder-Civil, the ex-husband of British singer Amy Winehouse, spoke to Good Morning Britain about their marriage and the responsibilities he feels he has in relation to the 27-year-old's death.
Fielder-Civil said he made "mistakes" during their relationship, but that he no longer feels responsible for her death. Many, in fact, continued to hold him entirely responsible for justifying Amy Winehouse's addiction and forcing her to take lethal substances that led to her death at the age of 27 in July 2011.
When Good Morning Britain host Ben Shepard asked Fielder-Civil to explain what those mistakes were, he explained that he was a young "drug addict" at the time and had no idea how to get off that path. Fielder-Civil also admitted that he had left Amy Winehouse alone, who was stuck in a vicious circle of a record label that had interests in Amy continuing to perform.
Ben Shepard, at the time, pointed out that Amy Winehouse was very vulnerable, a "fragile soul", to which Fielder-Civil stated that "yes, she was" and that in his opinion it was precisely this fragility that made her needed from people so much.
"I think that fragility is what people relate to on her albums and in her lyrics."
