Harry still hasn't gotten over his first girlfriend, but would it have worked out between them?
For the seven years they were together, Harry and Chelsy – or Haz and Chaz as they were known – were the life of the party. And for that time between 2004 and 2011, the loving couple occupied the front pages of the media.
Chelsy, with her infectious laugh, seemed perfect for Prince Harry.
However, to everyone's surprise, especially the people around them who looked up to them, Harry's first long-term relationship did not end in marriage. Who initiated the split or what the reason was was never officially revealed, but the pair split in 2011 and Chelsy, apart from giving a few interviews and attending the Prince's wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018, disappeared from the limelight. She quietly married hotelier Sam Cutmore-Scott and gave birth to a son, Leo, last year.
The reason for the separation was discovered by Harry, who seems to still be holding her hostage.
"Chelsy had no interest in being involved in public life. She had a hard time with the press, as hard as I did. That was the main factor in why we decided to end our relationship,' Harry recently said in a trial on the witness stand.
His ex-girlfriend's name was mentioned no less than 55 times. He blamed the media for their separation.
It begs the question, could Haz and Chaz have made it work?
Even though both have moved on, their friends and fans of this relationship still wonder if they would have succeeded?
"She was super lively and charming. They were close, extremely close and had a lot of chemistry. They always laughed. I've never seen Harry laugh so much," says a friend of theirs.
Some friends of hers today reveal that it was Kate's wedding preparations and the stresses she had to go through that scared Chelsy.
"She wanted to get on with her life and her ambitions and she realized that with Harry she wouldn't be able to do that."
Chelsy wanted privacy in the purest sense of the word - and unlike Harry and Meghan, she got it. Chelsy was right; if she had stayed with Harry, she would never have been able to live in the shadows so successfully.
After they split, Chelsy claimed she would not marry Prince Harry because of the growing incompatibility of their life choices.
