'Gilded Glamor', what does the theme of this year's Met Gala mean?
They separate us a few hours from the annual Met Gala event. As every year, tomorrow, on the first Monday of May, the VIPs will parade dressed according to a certain theme.
The dress code this year is 'Gilded Glamor', the same as in the HBO series 'Gilded Age'.
The first thing you will notice at this year’s Met Gala is the white tie, white vest and dresses that touch the floor.
The 'Gilded Glamor' style will ask attendees to embody the grandeur of 'Golded Age, New York'. Fashion at the time included things like corsets, gloves and bold necklines. There is a reason why Vogue called this topic as the most extravagant style it has ever seen.
Feathers, bows, hats and fur (hopefully artificial) are typical of this style.
Fabrics such as satin, velvet, tulle and silk are another feature. Ready to see better and worse dressed tomorrow.
