Emma blames her father and her aunt Julia Roberts for the roles she has missed out on in her career
For those who assume that being a 'fliglia d`arte' or a 'child of nepotism' makes it easier for a career in Hollywood, Emma Roberts says otherwise.
In an interview with Flaunt magazine published last week, the 'American Horror Story' star - whose father is actor Eric Roberts and whose aunt is actress Julia Roberts - said that when it comes to roles, she has had some difficulties, because her family is very well known.
'I've lost more work than I've gained from being family in this business. People have opinions and sometimes they are probably not good opinions about the people in my family. I have never found a job because I have family members in this field, on the contrary, I have lost several jobs because of this."
The term 'baby nepotism' or 'nepo baby' refers to the children of actors, singers and other public figures whose professional success is perceived as a by-product of having famous and/or wealthy relatives.
Roberts can currently be seen in 'Space Cadet', released last week on Amazon Prime Video. The comedy focuses on Rex Simpson (played by Roberts), a girl who aspires to become an astronaut.
